Correspondence, 1863-1875, pertains to personal and family matters and to local occurrences. Correspondence, 1875-1910, relates mainly to business and legal matters. The greater part of the Ditmer-Lehmer Family Papers involves the diaries of Jacob F. Lehmer, 1871-1914. Entries refer chiefly to weather conditions, surveying of land and execution of legal papers, travels, and the performance of household duties by Jacob and Sarah Lehmer.
Accounts include tax notices, receipts, and rough notes pertaining to household
and legal expenses. Among miscellaneous items are advertising cards and circulars,
photographs, and rough notes on a variety of matters.
