Collections, to be added to on a regular basis, contain: a general newspaper collection; photographs of immigrant workers, families, ethnic and religious organizations; church anniversary histories; and individual collections pertaining to Pennsylvania ethnic groups obtained under the Pennsylvania Ethnic Studies Program sponsored by the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission.

The Carpatho-Russian Collection, 1947-1974, consists primarily of publications relating to the American Carpatho-Russian Orthodox Greek Catholic Diocese of Johnstown founded in 1938 as a result of disputes with the Roman Catholic Church over Latinization and celibacy. Included in the collection are copies of the church paper, Cerkounyj Vistnik, 1957-1972, church anniversary books, and miscellaneous manuals and pamphlets. The church anniversary histories consist of church, diocesan, and pastoral anniversary and dedication booklets.
