OZIAS FERREE PAPERS
1865-1904
.25 cu. ft.

Consists mainly of letters, 1865-1904, of an Iowa farmer, Ozias Ferree (b. 1818, d. 1904), to the family of his wife's cousin, Mrs. Daniel Leaman, in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Ferree moved from his home in Adams County in 1863, to Panora, Iowa, where he settled permanently. His letters contain excellent descriptions of his original journey west and of his life in Iowa. Included also are genealogical materials pertaining to the Ferree and Leaman families.
