William Sellers and Company, 1855 to ca. 1940s, known as Bancroft and Sellers
from 1848 to 1855, produced steam injectors for use on locomotives and boilers.
The records are chiefly draftsmen's drawings, 1860-1884 of steam injectors and
the tools to service them. A scrapbook, [ca. 1887-1919], containing circulars
about injectors and their usages and some original designs for the Verbesserter,
Gifford, and Friedmann Steam injectors are included. Among the representative
draftsmen whose works appear in the collection are Theordore Bergner, Arthur C.H.
Magnin, William J. Sellers, John H. Seitz, Jr., Frank R. Lewis, Carl Barth, and
Eugene Klotz.
