and member of the U. S. House of Representatives, 1849-51. Political correspondence
consists mainly of letters to Calvin from congressional constituents and pertains
to such matters as the location of post offices and the appointment of postmasters.
Business correspondence consists mainly of letters to Calvin and relates to land
sales and legal actions involving land.
