Items pertaining to Pennsylvania’s constitutions including summaries, reports, and speeches relating to pending legislation that were collected by Mrs. Lawrence M. C. Smith, a member of the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission, 1955-1963. Included in this collection is a January 10, 1823 issue of the Philadelphia newspaper The National Gazette & Literary Register. Among the advertisements in this paper is an advertisement for "Negro cloths and linseys."
