MG-133. WELLES FAMILY PAPERS, 1805-1898.

Correspondence, accounts, etc., of the family of Charles F. Welles (1789-1866), a prominent resident of Wyalusing, Bradford County, from 1822 until his death. The personal correspondence, 1805-98, includes letters written between Charles F. Welles and his wife, Ellen J. Welles. Among them are five items written in 1867 that describe the new Lincoln University at Oxford, Chester County, to which Mrs. Welles had contributed. The correspondence also contains acknowledgments from Thomas McCauley, treasurer of Lincoln University.
