MG-249. BRADY FAMILY PAPERS, 1814-1964.

Correspondence including typescript copies, clippings, photographs, military commissions, certificates, and related genealogical materials of the Brady family, Scotch-Irish pioneers who settled along the Conodoguinet Creek near Shippensburg around 1750. Also included are newspaper clippings and printed materials pertaining to Captain John Brady, "West Branch Hero of 1776." Found in the series News clippings is a December 20, 1888 issue of the Williamsport Weekly Gazette and Bulletin which contains articles referring to African Americans.
