Reports, correspondence, accounts, and other papers of William H. Staake as treasurer of the General Council of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in North America and as an officer of the Lutheran Mission and Church Extension Society, 1871-1895. Papers also shed light on Staake's career as a lawyer in Philadelphia. Items pertain to the settlement of estates and other civil matters, including items from the Davidson and Ewing families of Philadelphia, some dating back to 1773. Also included are personal papers, 1880-87, of T. Elliott Patterson, associate of Staake, the Westminster College Association and the Young Republicans of Philadelphia.
