Papers, dealing mostly with land matters, of James Trimble, who served as assistant
secretary of the Supreme Executive Council, 1775-1791, and as deputy secretary
of the Commonwealth, 1791-1836, and those of his son, Dr. James Trimble, army
surgeon during the War of 1812. Dr. Trimble's papers include provision returns,
1815, and receipts for provisions-sugar, milk, wine, etc.-used in the medical
department of the military establishment, 1813-1814.
