Correspondence, accounts, and legal papers of Jasper Yeates (b. 1745, d. 1817), Lancaster Attorney, Chairman of the Lancaster County Committee of Correspondence, 1775, captain of the Lancaster County Associators, 1776, a commissioner for Indian affairs, 1776, and associate justice of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, 1791-1817, and of his father, John Yeates, Philadelphia merchant engaged in foreign trade.

Correspondents of John Yeates are Gidney Clarke, Barbados, 1726, 1745, and William Miller, Barbados, 1747. Correspondence of Jasper Yeates, 1763-1812, 103 items, features letters from Andrew Berryhill, Ephraim Blaine, Edward Burd, Joseph Burd, John Harris, Colonel Eneas Mackay, Richard Peters, George Ross, John Shippen, Henry W. Stiegel, and Thomas Willing. Other items include a letter from Mrs. Sarah A. Potts, Philadelphia, to Catherine Yeates, Lancaster, 1830; articles of agreement, 1770-1774, 1 folder; bonds, 1766-1799, 5 folders; and accounts, 1761-1802, 10 folders.
