Daniel H. Hastings (b. 1849, d. 1903), born in Clinton County, practiced law in
Centre County, was adjutant general of Pennsylvania, 1887-1891, and governor,
1895-1899.
The papers include: executive correspondence (including pre-inaugural letters),
an appointments file, invitations, a file relating to Pennsylvania's new capitol
building (embracing correspondence and photographs), proclamations, speeches,
scrapbooks, business papers (including correspondence), and accounts. The files
also include family correspondence and miscellaneous items of Mrs. Daniel H.
Hastings.
