Business records of Pennsylvania turnpike, canal, and railroad companies; iron
forges and furnaces; and numerous individuals involved in a wide variety of
businesses-banking, farming, lumbering, shipping, store keeping, tavern
keeping, etc. Also included are records of religious organizations, civic groups,
historical and military associations. The collection is divided into four sections:

Individuals and Companies, 1700-1960; C.) Transportation Accounts, 1795-1923;
