Papers such as correspondence, diaries, photographs, reports and orders, all concerning the military career of John P. Wood in the Pennsylvania National Guard, 1898-1916, 1919-1925; and in federal service during the Mexican Border Campaign, 1916, and in World War I, 1917-1919. Wood, born in Philadelphia in 1862, retired from the National Guard as a brigadier general in 1926.
