Featured are the historic records of Hopewell Furnace, Union Township, Berks County.
The furnace was founded in 1771 by Mark Bird, and was in blast until 1883. It
utilized charcoal to produce the blast until 1853, when it changed to anthracite
coal. The materials listed below have been transfered back to the National Historic
Site, but the Archives retained microfilm copies for patron usage.
