Leonard H. Miller was a private in the 5th Armored Signal Battalion during
World War II. The papers consist primarily of his letters to his mother, Mrs.
Harry Miller, and family in Millersburg, during his training at Camp Campbell
and at Fort Knox, Kentucky, from March to October 1943. Also included is a photograph
of Private Miller. Miller received much technical training in radio operation,
and seems to have been a frequent and conscientious writer. His letters reveal
many details of camp life, and also relate to his family and friends back home.
Donated by Bruce Bazelon, past Registrar of the State Museum.
