ADAM HAHN PAPERS

Adam Samuel Hahn (b. Aug. 26, 1901-d. June15, 1971) owned, built and operated a tourist attraction called America Wonderland near Denver (Lancaster County), Pennsylvania from 1958-1971. It was a model train layout with scale buildings, scenery and figures depicting various places, and eras significant in American history with narration and lighting.

The collection consists of Business Records dating from 1950 to 1969 which include invoices, checks and check stubs and records of admissions to the exhibit; Publicity Records from 1958 to 1972 with correspondence from visitors, addresses of school districts, photographs, slides, postcards, newsclippings; Construction Records covering the period 1933-1965 which deal with the building and physical layout of the exhibit, electrical information, tools, landscaping and building ideas and catalogues for machinery and supplies necessary for the business.

There are also personal papers of the Hahn family, 1901, 1918, 1920-1971 which includes family photographs, legal papers, baptismal and confirmation certificates and certificate of graduation as an engineer from Carnegie Institute in Pittsburgh for Adam S. Hahn.
