Democratic Senator H. Craig Lewis was born in Hazleton in 1944 and graduated from Millersville State College, University of Nebraska Graduate School, and Temple
University School of Law. Lewis practiced law and served as a member of the Bar of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania, Pennsylvania Intergovernmental Council, and the State Advisory Committee for Guidance Service. He was elected to the State Senate, 6th District, serving parts of Bucks and Philadelphia counties from 1972-1992.
