Diaries of Erastus C. Outman and Anna Outman Stevens. Among the subjects referred to are day-to-day weather conditions, farm work, the sale of farm animals and products, the buying of household articles, and other activities of various members of the family. Related to the diaries are accounts, 1885-1932, chiefly of Erastus C. Outman and relating particularly to the payment of county and state taxes, newspaper subscriptions, and sales of cheese and milk. Included are newspaper clippings, 1890-1931; and two teachers' provisional certificates for Anna Outman, 1890.

Stevens, pertain chiefly to Pennsylvania: Birthplace of a Nation, one of his best known publications, and to the related celebrated libel case, Frick vs Stevens, 1965-1967, initiated by Miss Helen Clay Frick, Pittsburgh, who claimed that certain passages in the book libeled the name of her father, Henry Clay Frick. Also included are various booklets, book reviews, clippings, awards and honors, and related items.
