Reconstruction
Often times, grave markers that have more then one element have been dismantled. This occurs frequently with larger pedestal graves or box tombs. These tombs should be reconstructed, but the work is best accomplished by a professional conservator. Reconstruction generally involves more than one type of treatment, including pinning or other structural repairs, composite repairs, the use of epoxies, and repointing.
