MG-49. JOHN L. FINAFROCK COLLECTION, 1915-1942.

John L. Finafrock (d. 1941) was a Franklin County historian and president of the Kittochtinny Historical Society for many years until his death. The collection contains printed and typewritten material including pamphlets, three issues of the newspaper Public Opinion, and a book. In one of the editions of the Public Opinion is an article titled "Negroes Held as Suspects in Theft of Coat." Two negro men, William H. Hames of Waynesboro and LeRoy House of Hagerstown, were held in the county jail on charges of larceny and receiving stolen goods.
