MG-215. ETHNIC STUDIES COLLECTIONS, 1789-1975.
This manuscript group contains ethnic newspapers, oral history materials, and photographs of immigrant workers and families. They provide information on ethnic and religious organizations, church anniversary histories, and information on ethnic groups obtained under the Pennsylvania Ethnic Studies Program sponsored by the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission.
Church Anniversary Histories. Nearly two hundred church anniversary publications representing numerous Pennsylvania ethnic and racial groups have been collected and placed in the Ethnic Studies Collections. These booklets offer valuable historical and biographical information as well as photographs. Examples of the African American church anniversary booklets include the following:
