The Pennsylvania Public Television Network Commission is a twenty-two member commission created in 1968 to operate, on behalf of the Commonwealth, a public television network system interconnecting all noncommercial television stations in the state; to aid in the improvement of broadcast operations, programming and capital facilities; to apply for and distribute federal, state, public, or private funds to insure diversity, freedom, objectivity and initiative in programming; and to prevent misuse of the network for political or other unconstitutional propaganda purposes.
