The Donation Land register includes a patent index and related lists concerning the Donation Land program, bound together with information concerning the Donation Land Lottery held on December 20, 1794. This is the register currently in use for indentifying records of individual land tracts. The volume contains eight distinct sections, namely:

• Numerical Listing of Donation Land Tracts


• Alphabetical Surname Index to the Donation Land Tracts Listing


• Listing of Veterans Entitled to Land


• Listing of Claimants in District 10 Whose Tracts were Found to be in New York


• Listing of Lots Found to be Partly in Pennsylvania and Partly in New York


• Listing of Lots Drawn for Widows and Children


• Listing of the Names of Individuals Entitled to Donation Lands "For Whom there was No Number in the Wheel"


• An Account of Fees Received by James Trimble, Clerk of the Donation Land Program, in 1792 & Special Notes on Individual Lots

The listing of tracts is grouped by district and arranged numerically by tract number, with the index grouped alphabetically by surname of the claimant. The remainder of the listings are grouped alphabetically by the surname of the claimant, except for the James Trimble accounting of fees received, which is organized chronologically.
