Below are links to the scanned pages of the Patent Indexes. These books do not contain actual patents, but serve as patentee name indexes to the original land patents granted by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for the dates 1684-1957. Patents issued after 1957 are indexed also, but not on the microfilm that was used to create these document images. Information provided about each patent includes name of patentee, date of patent, volume and page where recorded, acreage of the tract, name of warrantee, date of warrant, and county where the tract was located at the time of patenting. If you cannot find a original landowner's name in the Warrant Registers, this is the next place to look. Entries in the Patent Indexes are grouped alphabetically by first letter of patentee's surname, thereunder grouped by volume number of Patent Book, and finally arranged chronologically by date of patent.
