567. [Fowler's Panoramic Maps], 1889-1905. "An
Analysis of Fowler views of Pennsylvania towns suggests that
the panoramic artist concentrated on a specific geographical
area in a given year, very likely to minimize transportation
problems. From 1889 to 1894, for example, he sketched cities
in eastern Pennsylvania. In 1889 he focused on Schuylkill
County, from 1890 to 1892 he worked in the Scranton and Wilkes-Barre
area, and the area north of Philadelphia was mapped in 1893.
Views of cities between Morrisville and Chambersburg were
made in 1894, and from 1895 to 1897 he worked in the western
part of the state, especially around Pittsburgh, and in the
northwest sector of Pennsylvania ... From 1906 to 1903 [he]
was back in western Pennsylvania." Panoramic Maps
