Horse Power Shed

By the late 19th century, more farm machinery was horse-powered. In fact the term "horse power" was used to indicate a device, not a unit of energy. The "horse power" could be harnessed to both horse and a stationary machine. The horse walked in a circle, moving a pole, which in turn powered machinery. A horse power shed accommodated this activity.
